Metal parts are common components, and their surface treatment is related to their performance and lifespan. The common processes for surface treatment of metal parts are:

a、 Electroplating process

Electroplating process is a surface treatment process that involves placing hardware components in an electrolyte and applying an electric current to produce a chemical reaction on their surface, resulting in a thicker coating. Electroplating can improve the appearance, corrosion resistance, wear resistance, conductivity, and thermal conductivity of hardware components. Common electroplating methods include copper plating, nickel plating, chromium plating, zinc plating, etc. The performance of various coatings varies, and the selection should be based on specific usage requirements.

b、 Spray coating process

Spray painting process is the process of spraying paint, film, and other coatings on the surface of hardware components. It can protect the surface of hardware from corrosion and oxidation, and can also improve the appearance of products and extend their lifespan. There are various types of spraying processes, and common spraying coatings include acrylic acid, chloroprene rubber, fluoroplastics, silicone, etc.

c、 Oxidation process

The oxidation process is a surface treatment process that uses an electrolyte to oxidize the surface of hardware components, forming a layer of oxide film. It can increase the hardness, wear resistance, and surface processing aesthetics of hardware components, as well as improve their corrosion resistance. The oxidation process is commonly used for surface treatment of materials such as aluminum and zinc.

d、 Coating process

The coating process is to form an outer film with a thickness of several micrometers to several millimeters on the surface of hardware components, which is then wrapped around the surface of the hardware components to protect the specific surface of the parts. The common types of coatings include chromium plating, nickel plating, tungsten steel, and so on. Among them, there are many gas molecules outside tungsten steel, which can combine with tungsten to form W2C phase, greatly increasing the hardness and wear resistance of tungsten steel.

e、 Electrophoresis process

Electrophoresis is a technique that utilizes the different velocities of charged particles (ions) in an electric field to achieve separation. During this process, charged coating ions move to the cathode under the action of an electric field and form insoluble substances with the alkaline reaction generated on the cathode surface, which deposit on the surface of the workpiece. The characteristic of electrophoresis is that its paint film has the advantages of full, uniform, flat, and smooth coating, and performs excellently in the uniformity of the paint film, which can fully cover hidden areas.
